WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP...
THIS IS WHAT OUR TRAPHOUSE LOOKS LIKE. (View)
International Trap is frequently called Bunker or Olympic Trench, because the trap house is over 60 feet long, 8 feet wide, and about 6'6" high inside. It is dug into the ground so that its roof is flush with the ground, on the same level as the shooting station. It is typically made of concrete, with a concrete roof and looks for all the world, like a military fortification, hence the name Bunker or Trench. Click here for details about American Trap vs Olympic Trap by Lester L. Greevy, Jr.

Having the use of a traphouse is as essential as clays or shells. As you can see, our traphouse has several stations, each of which can be set for different clay trajectories. My dad has helped me build a bunker, which cost $58,332.00, where I will be able to practice and practice and practice! View

To become an expert at shooting you need to shoot a lot and receive excellent coaching. As in all sports, the more you practice, the better you get. However, as you may know, shooting trap is very expensive. Several people I have met during shooting events, have offered to help with small donations and I have decided to take them up on it. I really feel that my chances will vastly improve if I am able to practice constantly and the main step was building a bunker. This has been built on the shooting range of Birmingham's Southern Skeet & Trap. This bunker is available to other shooters to train or learn the sport. The National Shooting Sports Foundation has a Scholastic Clay Target Program for Junior shooters available. Click here for more information.
